Purity of Intention - Part 5

Sufiyaan At Tawri رحمه الله was a prominent scholar of hadith and he said:
"I did not find upon myself, I did not encounter and I did not experience anything harder upon myself than my niyyah, my intention."
Renewing our intentions and always keeping our thoughts on doing actions for the sake of Allah ‎ﷻ‬ is not an easy task, shaitaan comes to us and makes us forget for whose sake we had intended to do it in the first place. but that’s okay, as we are all human beings and Allah‎ﷻ‬ calls us insaan and one of the meanings of insaan is the forgetful one. We are by nature forgetful beings. And what’s important for us is that we adhere to obedience and go back and correct ourselves and remind ourselves over and over again.
If we are to imagine the scenario of standing on The Day of Judgement and looking for our good deeds and we cannot find them, we think and wonder where are the deeds that we used to do, but we do not find it just because we did not intend it for Allah’s sake. ‎سبحان الله‎‬ May Allah‎ﷻ‬ protect us from
that…
Though, a difficult task in gaining the highest level of purity for the heart, which are adorn with purity in intention each Mukmin must consistently strive to achieve it.
Zkir - the continous remembrance of Allah Rabul Jalalluh and seeking the path of "mursyid" to assist in achieving tranquility and pureness of intention in "ibadah" and good deeds.
Istiqomah, or continuous dedication, strive and the inner drive to achieve the desired level of piousness and purity throughout our temporal life time in this "dunia"
